Norway loves WiFi

-Posted by Jon Lunger, ArtsQuest’s Marketing Manager and WiFi hotspot.

If you’re an avid reader of our blog, by now you’ve figured out that I enjoy a healthy dose of geek in my art.  What can I say, I’m a dorky product of ThunderCats and synthesizers.  I won’t apologize for it,  I embrace my dorkdom.  It is with that in mind that I now share with you this dorky (but awesome) art from Norway.

Cell phones, WiFi and technology-in-general are all pretty darn magical.  Think about what gets accomplished through the freakin’ air with all these new-fangled gizmos.  If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.

Well, the Norwegians have invented a way to artistically visualize the magical, invisible glory that is WiFi (without requiring anyone to smoke anything).

The Oslo School of Architecture and Design’s YOUrban project has created the following art project entitled “Immaterials: Light painting WiFi.”

Check out the full story behind this awesomeness at http://yourban.no/2011/02/22/immaterials-light-painting-wifi/
